Sona Modern Public School is the manifestation of a dream to create a school of excellence – perpetually rising above in stature and beyond being a structure of brick and mortar with good facilities. Foundation stone was laid in the year 1973 by Late Sh. Ch. Dharamvir Singh, he first felt the need to make the one of the best school in the locality that was not elitist and yet within the reach of parents and students aspiring for quality education. SMPS has made its mark through its tremendous achievements both in scholastic and co scholastic domains. Affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education


APPROACH

A unique feature of SMPS is the child - friendly approach to teaching that is not just activity based, but also geared towards higher order learning. With more emphasis on comprehension and analytical abilities, rather than rote memorisation, the students are initiated into a process of investigation, experimentation and deduction. The school aims at nurturing curiosity, with hands-on practical experience.

Technology is used extensively as a learning tool at SMPS, Smart Boards, Computers along with intranet and internet connectivity are enabling tools for curriculum transaction. Teacher development programmes are at the core of all innovations in classroom. Regular workshops on Multiple Intelligences, Action Research, Hands on Science and Mathematics teaching, Flipped Classes, Language training, IT Training, Phonetic Training, Read Aloud, Storytelling, Dramatics, Assessment tools, Yoga and Meditation, Life Skills Education in School are conducted.

Sona Modern School is an English Medium Recognised & Affiliated to C.B.S.C School which aims at building excellences in all its manifestations. The school endeavours to provide ample opportunity to each student. The school also offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities and has experienced trained highly qualified, responsible & dedicated staff.


CURRICULUM

The curriculum is designed as per methods that are adopted to organise and secure progressive development with revision and consolidation at different stages. The school follows the NCERT curriculum.


VALUE EDUCATION

Value education is the part of school education. It means something about morals, which helps the children to inculcate the good behaviour. School has plans to build a good moral character through curricular and co-curricular activities.

School children participate is every field inside and outside the school like sports, exhibitions, Music, Dance, Art and craft etc. Which help them in all round development to make a strong personality and also add to value education.
